Grant’s 2JZ Altezza
Based up in Auckland, New Zealand, our boy Grant has built himself one hell of an Altezza.
This 10 second, 1999 Toyota Altezza is far from stock, and we love to see it!
To start, Grant has swapped in a 2JZ-GTE VVTi for the stock NA straight 6. The bottom end is brand new, overhung by a built head, consisting of Kelford 272/278 cams, a Borgwarner s366 sx-e turbo, a custom full billet intake manifold, and a Bosch drive by wire throttle body.
This build is currently pumping out 503kw to the wheels, through a triple plate clutch, and an r154 gearbox.
Grant has also not shied away from cosmetics 1 bit. This Altezza is wide bodied, paired with a timeless interior, including; a Haltech dash, and a Nardi Steering wheel. These features add a tasteful and timeless touch to the Altezza platform.
Unlike many others, Grant actually has numbers to show to this build. He consistently does 11.6 second passes on the quarter mile, even hitting the 10 second mrk with a set of sticky drag radials.
You can catch Grant at most JDM NZ and Rotationals meets, but he prefers the last minute, spur of the moment meets on Friday/Saturday nights.
Grant wanted to give a big shoutout to the boys at ST Hitec/J-Tune, and NST, for everything they’ve done to help this build.
Make sure to show Grant some love on Instagram @grants2jz, or by clicking one of the images above. Thanks for your submission Grant, we absolutely love this build!
