Avery’s Matrix

Avery's 2006 Toyota Matrix may seem ordinary at first glance, but it's far from it. With a blend of carefully selected modifications, this Matrix has been transformed into a true enthusiast's dream.

The exterior modifications, including Core Racing wheels, BC Racing coilovers, and a sporty 2004 Subaru Outback spoiler, give it a unique and aggressive look.

Under the hood, the Matrix packs a punch with a cold air intake, custom-built headers, a 2.5" custom exhaust, and a 2zz water pump swap for improved cooling. The Monkey Wrench Racing short shifter ensures precise gear changes, while the MWR underdrive alternator pulley and water pump pulley reduce engine drag.

Handling is enhanced with Mazda Protege strut braces and full polyurethane bushings, providing a sharp and responsive ride. Avery's commitment to performance includes deleting the air conditioning system and significant interior gutting for weight reduction.

To monitor the Matrix's vital signs, Avery has installed an AEM X Series wideband and oil pressure gauge. But the transformation doesn't stop here. Avery has plans for a custom interior, adding another layer of uniqueness to this already impressive project.
