Marcelo's journey with his 2018 VW Golf R is a testament to his love for the VAG community and his passion for performance.
Marcelo has always been a fan of the Volkswagen Audi Group (VAG) community and dreamt of owning a manual Golf R. Initially, his Golf R served as a regular daily driver, but the modification bug soon bit, turning it into a dedicated weekend car. Along the way, Marcelo received invaluable support from friends and fellow enthusiasts who helped him bring his vision to life.
What started as a daily driver quickly evolved into a high-performance machine. Marcelo's Golf R, now a symbol of his dedication and love for cars, showcases the potential of the platform with a host of carefully selected upgrades.
Marcelo's 2018 VW Golf R features a variety of modifications, each contributing to its enhanced performance and aesthetics. The exterior boasts a Maxton front lip and diffuser, an OEM Oettinger rear spoiler, and OEM Euro taillights. It sits on 19” BBS CH-R wheels, giving it a sporty and aggressive stance.
Under the hood, the car is equipped with a stage 2 full bolt-on setup with Unitronic tuning. It includes a South Bend stage 3 daily clutch, an Integrated Engineering (IE) downpipe, and an X-Force exhaust system, providing both power and an exhilarating exhaust note.
For braking, Marcelo upgraded to a Porsche big brake kit (BBK) with 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-piston calipers in the rear, ensuring exceptional stopping power. The intake system features a Unitronic carbon fiber intake, and inside, the car sports a carbon fiber steering wheel, adding a touch of sophistication and performance.
Marcelo's passion for his Golf R shows no signs of waning. With a solid foundation of modifications already in place, he continues to seek new ways to enhance and refine his beloved car. The journey is ongoing, and Marcelo is excited about the future possibilities for his build.
